Overall rating 4/5To the despair of many - mostly avid Top Gear fans - the Subaru Impreza ended its production run in 2012, but there are still plenty on the roads.

Overall rating 4/5All the more noticeable on the roads by the fact that, with sizeable spoilers, a large protruding nostril which sits on the bonnet, and colour combinations which are at the very limit of taste, the Impreza is certainly no shrinking violet. On the road it is much the same, offering blistering pace, unrelenting grip and an adrenaline rush that few can match. The WRX hot variant might have the upper hand on performance over the standard Impreza, but with each model boasting plenty of power, it certainly isn't a car for the sedate or sensible.
